Creamy and Subtly Spiced Tomato Bisque Soup | Comfort in a Bowl

Creamy Tomato bisque soup

A creamy, comforting tomato soup ready in just 30 minutes - with ingredients you probably already have.

Did you know? The termbisque once referred to rich, creamy seafood soups from France. Over the years, it evolved into a smooth, luxurious soup style, and the tomato bisque became a much-loved classic for its balance of richness and simplicity.

This version of tomato bisque soup leans into that tradition while gently layering in Indian-inspired flavors. The result is both familiar and fresh, something you can make on a quiet night or serve as a light meal when you're craving something warm and grounding.

Tomatoes are slow-simmered with hints of garlic, onion, and ginger, then blended to a smooth finish. A swirl of cream or coconut milk adds body, without making it overly heavy. The seasoning is soft but thoughtful, with turmeric and everyday spice blends adding depth without overwhelming the core tomato flavor.

Delicious Tomato Bisque Soup Recipe

There’s no rushing here. No complicated prep, either. Just a short list of pantry staples, minced and ready to use, plus a little attention, and you’ve got a pot of perfect tomato bisque soup. It feels just right, whether you’re enjoying it by yourself, serving it to a friend, or packing it for lunch the next day.

Our Gourmet Everyday Seasoning is a beautiful blend of 7 ingredients: black peppercorns, coriander seeds, yellow mustard, onion, garlic, and red chili flakes, all perfectly balanced with Himalayan pink salt. This all-in-one spice experience is exactly what you need to create the perfect tomato bisque soup.

Pair it with crusty bread, a Bean Salad, or Pan Sheet Balsamic Chicken Thighs and Veggies for a satisfying, rounded meal.

For the toppings, you don’t need croutons for this soup, you can easily switch to Roasted Foxnuts toppers that will make you dive right into the nourishing flavor.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, heat ghee/ olive oil over medium heat. Add minced onion and sauté until soft and golden.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger, and cook for another minute or two until aromatic.
  3. Stir in the tomatoes, seasoning blend, and turmeric. Let everything cook uncovered for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to concentrate and the tomatoes to soften.
  4. Add the broth or water, stir well, and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat and let the soup cool slightly. Blend until smooth using an immersion blender or a standard one.
  6. Return the soup to low heat. Stir in the cream or coconut milk and season with salt to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
